Blackmagic Software Wont Install on Win7 System

I have an BMD Intensity Pro 4K PCI card, used for Avid Symphony System running on  HP xw8600 Workstation... Everything was working great until the upgrade from BM Desktop Video 10.10 to version 10.11.

Now I am getting the following error when attempting to install BM Desktop Video 10.11.

"Blackmagic Design Desktop Video Setup Wizard ended prematurely... because of an error"

and now it won't allow me to install even earlier version of the BMD drivers..

Thank you for your help in advance for any help you might offer

Just a thought - what driver are you using?   Is there a driver just for windows 7? - you could try.

Have you tried uninstalling the drivers? You can do this by uninstalling the Desktop Utility program. If that doesn't work than I recommend uninstalling or rolling back the driver via your Device Manager. And if that still doesn't work then perhaps consider doing a system restore. The system restore should be generating a few choices- hopefully one restore point will be just before you tried to install the new drivers.

Also, when installing new drivers in the future I recommend uninstalling old ones rather than overwriting. And be sure to restart your system in between each step. I'm currently running version 10.11 on Windows 7 with MC 2018.7.

For what it's worth... I've had issues today with the latest BMD Desktop Video version 10.11.1.  I had video preview problems & crashes this morning in AE, assumed it was related to BMD mini monitor and so I updated from the old 10.9 to 10.11.1 since that's the latest. But then it seems that version causes studdery performance in MC 2018.3 (my current version installed).  So I uninstalled/downgraded to 10.10 and all is normal again.

Sounds like others have various issues with the latest BMD desktop video from the look of the forums from the last few days.  Just sounding off in case Avid folks are watching the forums.

Re: Blackmagic Software Wont Install on Win7 System

I am using  desk top video 10.9.12 with MC 2018.7 - so far no problems.  I just upgraded and did some fast tests so I have not really put MC through much.   It also worked fine with MC 2018.4 - those edits went very well with the Intensity Pro 4k and desk top video setup 10.9.12 - so I  will not upgrade until I know for sure there will not be any issues.
