    New Hardware Purchase suggestion for Avid Media composser

    Hello Guys, 

     

    I am planning to buy new Mac / HP laptop / workstation for my work and i will be using the Media composser as main application.

     

    Please give me your suggesiton about it.

    On the Mac side I'd be loking at an iMac Pro but you can get a more flexible HP system for less money.

    If you're thinking the MacPro route, I would wait if you can because Apple promises a redesigned CPU in 2019.

    Otherwise, in general I think you'll find PCs to have more processing power at a much lower cost.

    Over the years, I've been very happy with the HP Z series workstations.   They are designed to run 24/7 and you can easily upgrade cards, memory, drives, etc. without even a screwdriver.
