    Avid XML?

I've worked with Final Cut Pros .fcpxml format for extracting various info about a project and need to do the same for productions made in Avid. However I've got a bunch of .avb-files which seems like another format. We've with somewhat of a success extracted data from and ALE, but aint there a textbased equivalent of the fcpxml-format for Avid? The goal is to calculate the duration of all audio and getting the filepaths.

    Re: Avid XML?

AVB files are Avid Bins, containing media and sequences; AVP are Avid Projects, containing project settings.

Export the sequences as an AAF, that is the closest equivilant to an XML or FCPXML that Avid supports natively.

    Re: Avid XML?

Resolve and Premiere can read/write both aaf and xml.  You can try to use either of those as a "translator."
