    Trying again with Timeline Issue

Folks: I apologize but I am RE=posting this because I got absolutely NO replies after a month (usually you folks chiome in within an hour, so I wondered if it wasn't up for somereason). Anyway...

As always, thanks for the support. I have been experiencing an odd issue with Media Composer 8.5 running on Windows 7 Pro. I have a mess of Timelines that are all very similar (they are for movie review clips – all start with a different theater screen where the movie trailer appears and then zooms in (so you don’t have to watch it on the fake movie screen all the time). I had 20 or so of these made – each with a different screen at the head of the Timeline – but a week or so ago they ALL suddenly had the very same screen on every Timeline. AND if I make a change to ANY of the Timelines (laying in a new screen, for instance) that change then affects EVERY other Timeline. It’s infuriating!

    Any ideas? Thanks again. Tom

Just to show that people are reading your message ...

I have NEVER seen anything like this.  Can not even think how it would happen with Avid MC.

    Good luck,

    Jef

Try deleting the database files in the Avid media directory (it's the .mdb file). This gets recreated when it's missing. See if that works.
