    Win10 Pro or Creators?

Going to update a z400 that is happily running Avid but falls over a bit with Premiere (may be other reasons, but I figure I should drag it out of win7).

Are folks happily using Win10 Creators version? Not entirely sure what the difference is.

I'd stick with Pro (although I have a system running Creators fine)

I think you get eralier updates of new features and that may cause issues.

    Stick to the supported OS

    Re: Win10 Pro or Creators?

Home, Pro, and Enterprise are Editions.

Anniversary, Creators, Fall Creators, and (soon) Spring Creators are Versions.

All Versions are available for all Editions. You can have Windows 10 Pro Fall Creators Update.

Comparing to the new Avid edition/versioning. This would be similar to how MC First, MC, and MC Ultimate are Editions. Then 2018.1, .2, .3 are Versions. Each version is available for all editions, hence we have MC First 2018.4 and MC Ultimate 2018.4.

All super confusing. But, you would need to check the read me for the specific Avid Version you are installing to see which Windows version(s) it is compatible with. But, regardless of Version you need to stick with the Pro edition.

ck123 is right with the edition/versioning names (although the next update for Windows 10 will be called Windows 10 April 2018 Update, not Spring Creators Update). I run the Fall Creators Update and have zero problems with it.

MC will run on the Home edition of Windows 10, but it's not supported by Avid, so customer service won't be happy if you're using that edition. So yes, go for Pro.

With increased security risks, any computer running without enhanced security is running an increasing risk. While I might delay some MS updates, I would keep abreast as to the security reasons for each update.
