Limitations: The following are known limitation in Media Composer v2018.4.

Multicam editing with Panasonic LongG media is not supported with this release.Bug Number: MCDEV-5384. Currently, when working with LongG media, you might see dropped frames when editing 4 streams. This might occur when playing from a single stream to multiple streams (and from multiple streams back to a single stream). The dropped frames usually display around the edit point (transition to a different stream).
Important Notes:
1. NVIDIA Driver: The editing application supports Nvidia Driver v390.77. Avid recommends that if you are on a Windows 7 system and working with the v390.77 Nvidia driver, you should enable desktop composition. See this article for details: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/how_to/Enable-Desktop-Composition-in-Windows-7
2. Interplay: Media Composer v8.7 and higher requires Avid Interplay client v3.7 and higher.
3. Upgrading to Mac OS v10.11.x: (Mac) If you upgrade to Mac OS 10.11.x, you must uninstall Media Composer. Reinstall Media Composer after you perform the OS upgrade. If you use Avid Artist DNxIO, you must also uninstall the Desktop Video software and reinstall it after the OS upgrade.
4. Dongle not Recognized on High Sierra (OS 10.13.x) - in some instances after upgrading to High Sierra, the Avid dongle is not recognized by the Mac so upgrading through AppMan is not possible. In order to update the dongle for use with High Sierra, please read this Knowledge Base article.
5. System Drive and High Sierra - With the release of Mac OS v10.13.x (High Sierra), Media Composer cannot write (i.e. capture, import, render) to the system drive. Workaround: You can partition the Mac drive and choose the partition or an external drive when selecting drives in the Media Creation Settings.

Does this version include the Live Timeline feature? I don't see it listed in the What's New document.
Great update! ありがとうございました!
At the moment I have
I absolutely do not need the options Media Composer Ultimatum.
In addition, it's somewhat curious, but the subscription for this year was extended automatically. I did not turn off the Auto Renew Plan by mistake.))
Thank you very much for the excellent program and sorry for my auto-english .. It's somewhat easier for me to write in Japanese at this moment of my life.))
よろしくお願いします。
TRyring to update on a Win10pro z840 loaded. It starts but does not seem to finish? It does the Avid application manager then ends and nothing after happens???
UPDATE: Ok it did do the update. But The Avid install was VERY fast and there was no notice it was done.
I will play around and see what I find.
Yuri:Is it possible to adjust my contributions and switch to new "regular" 19,99$ Media Composer?
Sorry! I carefully read the Rebranding_MC 2018.4_FAQ.pdf and found the answer to my question :
[If you who wish to downgrade to a Media Composer subscription, you will not have the option to do so through an early renewal and will need to wait until your regular renewal period to make the change. ]
but this is somewhat offensive))
QUICK SEARCH IN THE MARKER WINDOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yuri,
Use your existing subscription until it is up for renewal, at which point you can either
1. renew as a Media Composer | Ultimate subscriber and have access to all the same added software options, or
2. start a new Media Composer subscription if you generally work independently
You should wait until your subscription plan expires and then let it lapse and buy the 20/mon one. if you are on a month to month, then let it lapse next month by turning off the auto renew and then the fllowing month buy the new 20/mon option of Media composer.
Yuri: Sorry! I carefully read the Rebranding_MC 2018.4_FAQ.pdf and found the answer to my question : [If you who wish to downgrade to a Media Composer subscription, you will not have the option to do so through an early renewal and will need to wait until your regular renewal period to make the change. ] but this is somewhat offensive))
Why would that be offensive? if you are month to month now with your MC subscription, then let your license lapse. Turn off auto renewal. Next month, buy a new MC subscription for $20/mon ( this one requires an annual commit). If you bought the subscription with a yearly commit already, then you do need to wait until the license expires and then let it lapse and renew under the new $.
Thank you very much for your response!
perhaps "offensive" is not exactly the exact word. I apologize. yes this is an annual subscription with monthly payments. and it was issued 2 years ago. but I did not pay attention to the auto-renew switch and have what I have. the situation has changed somewhat and I do not need this wonderful product in full, but I can not cancel this annual subscription and switch to monthly or, as is now possible, simplified. Yes, I will wait until the end of the subscription(November), since there are no other options. naturally a person always wants a small saving)).
No problem!Sorry for the offshoot from the main topic and verbosity.
I got the same "no notice of finished installation" However when I clicked on the open MC in application manager the new splash screen noting 2018.4 was displayed. Also, there was no request for a system reboot.

"Returning Users If you are upgrading from a previous version of the editing application, you must first uninstall the previous version before you install and activate your new software. You will need your original System ID to activate your upgraded product. After you uninstall your old application, the installation process will be identical to the standard installation"
In all my previous upgrades, I never had to uninstall before. Is this something new?
I have a fantastic editing assistant. He stays by my side when I edit...doesn't talk too much...and thinks I'm a genius! Check him out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQVkYaaPO6g
Terry Snyder:Is this something new?
I downloaded and extracted the zip file on my Windows 7 Workstation. At the end of the extraction process, I get this error:
I have no idea what this means???
Checking the extracted folder's properties--there 18,042 files in the Media_Composer_2018.4_Win folder on my Win 7 Workstation.
I download and extracted again on my non-Avid Windows 10 PC and now I don't get error. This extracted folder contains 18,051 files. So 9 files were not able to be extracted on my Win 7 workstation, which is the machine I run Avid.
I am afraid to try installing the upgrade if these files are crucial?
Did you move the downloaded zip file to the root level of your C:\ drive (C:\Media_Composer_2018.4_Win.zip) and extract it there?
