    Crash on Full Screen

I just updated to the new 2018.2 with a clean install that support was helping me on. I created a new user profile. Everything is fine except when I go to full screen nothing plays and then it crashes. I did not have a problem before upgrade to 2018.2 with this system.

I tried admin user, reboot, color space change Ycbcr 709 and RGB 709, on settings/full screen playback I have left 0, right 1920, top 0, bottom 1080. am I missing a settings with this new install?

ask support to upgrade your computer to Win 10. Everything gets better!

    Re: Crash on Full Screen

I am getting the same think on my edit 1 system with MC 8.10. Although not on my laptop system (edit 3 in specs). I suspect the Nvidia Driver, which in both cases is version 377.11.

I am in process of upgrading edit 1 to MC 2018.3, but having read your post I suspect it won't fix the problem.

Window 10 would probably be better but everything was fine until the upgrade.

I hope to touch base with Avid Support Monday but curiousy what is an edit 1 system?

Avid support had the answer and it was first the graphics card latest update 385.08 and then the settings. They said it should be:

    Can you try this next:

Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel (by right clicking on desktop):

    - Under Manage 3D settings > Global Settings > Use Base Profile and select Prefer Maximum Performance for the Power Management Mode
    - On the Program Settings tab > Select Avid Media Composer > CUDA - GPUs, select "Use These GPUs" and then check Quadro K2000D
    - Open GL Rendering GPU > Quadro K2000D
    - Power management mode > Prefer maximum performance
    - Threaded optimization > on
    - Triple buffering > on
    - Vertical sync > on

Then launch Media Composer and check.

    Re: Crash on Full Screen

Thanks Ronald - I will try these settings out on my current driver (v377.11), I tried to update to 385.08 already but got an error that my card was not compatible, it is a Quadro 4000, presumeably too old!

Don't forget to enable Desktop Composition in Windows (with newer MC versions)

I can see a lot of "crashes" related to incorrect settings.

I gave up on Avid I do Premiere only now. However I saw I had a weak solid states drive that was affecting the processor maybe it was the C drive and it's solid state.
