Mojo Dx and MC 2018.2 with iMac Pro

Has anyone been able to make a Mojo DX work using a Sonnet DX connected via thunderbolt 3 using a thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter and a Imac Pro with High Sierra and MC 2018.2 or for that matter any version of MC. Thanks

Not yet, but I could test this.

One question, did you install the DX-Driver? By default they are deactivated in the newer installers.

    Hi

I have installed the DX-Driver and still not joy. In AVID under Settings there is no Video Out option and the "Toggle Client Monitor" is greyed out and says (disabled) The computer under system hardware, thunderbolt Device Tree shows TB to PCIe Adapter x4 Adapter and Vendor Name: Sonnet, Status: Device Connected.

Interestingly I have the same OS on my MacBook Pro, same Avid version and when I connect the Sonnet via thunderbolt 2 the MojoDX operates just fine.

I'm now at a dead end. Any help would be appreciated

I have the same question but wondering if anyone  chance had reviewed the workability of an Avid Nitris.  So it woudl be:

    • Avid Nitris DX
    To
    • Sonnet DX Thunderbolt Adapter
    To
    • Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter

The folks over at Sonnet got back to me and confirmed the connectivy works on the machine but have not tested it on a a Nitris.  Hear is what I heard back from Sonnet support:

"We have tested the Sonnet DX Thunderbolt Adapter to the 2017 iMac through the Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter.  We have not specifically tested the Avid Nitris DX in this setup, but I can tell you that the Sonnet DX Thunderbolt Adapter does work in this setup."

For a Nitris DX this setup DID NOT work:

    • Avid Nitris DX

    To

    • Sonnet DX Thunderbolt Adapter

    To

    • Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter
What was funny going this route however is Media composter 2018.3 def reconized the Nitris box - it certain powered it up and when I'd unplug I would get lots of flickering on our broadcast monitors however I believe it is the Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter where something just doesn't want to take.   Figured I'd give an update on my test for anyone else trying this.

Are there alternate brands for the Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter?   Because I know that Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter would only give me 2 channels of HDMI audio to my AVR and then I tried a J5 branded one and got 7.1 channels over HDMI.  The Apple one has 2/5 star average review on Apple's website.
