This is what im getting when i try to run Media Composer first...
exception:std::exception,what acf call failed: m_acfsingletonmgr->get component(acf compid_cthost,iid_ictmaster,(void**)m_ctmaster.outarg()), error code 0x8007045a,file..\..\src\compressionmgr\catwrapperconfig.cpp line 389
It would help to know more about the system you're working on. Which specific OS? What processor? What video card? How much RAM? Is this an installation that was working before, or a new one that has never worked?
If you edit your user profile, you can add this information so you don't have to type it all the time. (Look at the bottom of this post for an example.)

Sorry about that:
This is a new install trying it for the first time. but when i installed media composer demo it worked fine. so after the trial period of media composer was over, i went and installed media first and now im getting this error code. but like i said previous, media composer demo worked just fine but media first won't.

Did you use the Windows Control Panel to uninstall MC and the Avid Application Manager before running the complete MC | First install process?
(I have moved this thread to the MC | First forum.)
Yes I uninstalled MC before i installed MC/First
And the Application Manager? (Trying to make sure there are no Caches left behind to cause issues)
yes. i also unistalled the application manager
Does anyoune have an answer?
MrNate3:Does anyoune have an answer?
Install the latest version of the full MC and reboot the computer. Then uninstall MC and the Application manager. Start the whole MC | First process again with a new download.
ive tried everthing you guys have suggested and still getting the same error msg.
could it be that im running pro tools 12 on the same PC?
MrNate3:could it be that im running pro tools 12 on the same PC?
AndrewAction:FWIW I have Pro Tools 12.8.3 HD co-installed with MC 8.10 (NOT MC | First) on both a W7 and a W10 system seemingly without issues.
Is there a specific order in which you have to install MC and Pro Tools for them to work together? If so, that might also apply to MC First.
Ive always had pro tools on my PC. When i downloaded the Trial for MC, it worked perferctly. but after the trial ended, I installed MC/First and thats when i started getting this error msg.

After uninstalling manually delete the leftovers of MC: delete the Avid created folders in c:\Program Files, c:\ProgramData and anywhere else You find them. You'll have to reinstall ProTools and MC in the proper order.
