    Knut

There are a few threads postd on this very subject.

High Sierra has new security .... which Apple implemented along with APFS in High Sierra and this is not allowing write permission to the boot partition of the drive.

We recommend that customers stay at Sierra 10.12.6 if they wish to change their write permissions or if they do forge ahead with High Sierra, they use the disk utility to create a partition for the media (off of the boot drive).  This method works fine and does not have any protection issues.     It’s not a good idea to turn off the MAC OS security anyway.

If your Mac allows then add a second drive and use it for dedicated media.

If not shrink the current OS partition and add a new partition for media

Marianna is a very busy person and can't be expected to help every person with a problem (although she will always try).  It would be better to post in the forums here first - there is usually someone who can help.  In your case the best first choice would be the Avid Media Composer - Mac forum.

And this wasn't a Media Composer problem, it's an Apple OS-X issue.  It was just introduced by Apple to make life more exciting for people like you and me.
