    Re: avid 8.9.2 BUGS

Did they ever fix the macroblocking issue? I'm having the same problem with XDCAM files.

    Re: avid 8.9.2 BUGS

The answer is: no they didn't. I had to create submasters in Avid and then use third party software to make an xdcam file without macroblocking in the top third of picture because Avid is incapable of doing so. Its impossible to see when watching the program, but QC programs or some anal QC operator will flag it.

Is this the case in all versions beyond 8.9.2?

So I just did a test.  Output to XDCAM 50 from a Mac 8.10.0 system to a XDCAM PDW-U1 with driver 5.0.8.  I do NOT see any macro blocking in the upper third or in any other area.

And I even cleaned my glasses before viewing.

Viewed by relinking back to Avid and watching on a Sony PVM - A250 OLED via a Kona 3G.
