Sys Error status 5 Access denied

    Hi,

I am getting the following error trying to open projects on MC 8.8.2 in the "shared avid projects" folder

    Error message

    DISK_ACCESS_DENIED

SYS_ERROR, status 5, Access is denied

Anyone have any idea what the issue is?

    Scottyboy.......

Fix:  Depending on the platform you have you will need to remove the following folder:

Note: This applies for both Application Manager and Avid License Control utilities in all versions 6.x - 8.x.

PC -  Look for the following folders.  If found, delete the entire folder.

                                 C:\ProgramData\Avid\Licenses

Mac - Look for the following folders. If found, delete the entire folder.

                                 Macintosh HD/Library/Application_Support/Avid/Licenses

Important:   If you can’t find the specific folder in Windows, go to Folder Options in the Tools menu and select “Show Hidden Folders.”

    Thanks,

That didnt really help, after deleting the folder I had to reactivate but some project still won't load, same error as above, some of them work, some give the error

I have no idea how to fix it

Where is the 'shared projects folder' and is there something about that drive that could explain limited access rights?

    Hi.

They are located in the users default "shared projects" folder, they havent been moved and the permissions all look fine with full access.. its very odd

Try adding 'Everyone', if it's not already there and giving full access to that. Security shouldn't be an issue as it's one folder and in your public user.
