Is BMD's intensity pro 4K a decent solution for HDMI out to a hero display from MC?

Looking for a low cost solution and wondered if folks here are using this card with MC 8.9.x (and Resolve 14). Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

I have the BMD Intensity Pro 4K. It's connect via HDMI to a 4K UHD TV for monitoring. and my older SD equipment for input (Laserdisc, pro VHS, etc.) It works well with both MC and of course with Resolve. About the only issue I have is that the sound from MC always routes to the TV if I have the hardware enabled, even if the TV is turned off. I've never found a way to worjk around that one.

    Thanks Dave - much appreciated.

Too bad there isn't a way to tell MC to ignore the Intensity Pro 4K hardware and use the internal (Windows) mixer, instead. Maybe raise this as a defect (or at least a feature request).

    Cheers

Marianna... if you are old then I am ancient - lol

To make matters worse - I may have been the one who suggested it before... memory is not as good as it used to be...

Marianna, you are not getting old. You're like a bottle of Chateau Cheval Blanc; you just get better over time.

I use a small USB powered hdmi audio splitter, hdmi in rca audio out and hdmi out. I wish there was an option to go audio out from avid though, I would imagine there would be audio sync issues though.

Good point. Perhaps that's at the root of the issue.
