    Consolidate crashes Avid

Having trouble consolidating media. Avid crashed at different points of each reel when I try to consolidate to an external drive. It is a problem with the audio, as I consolidated just the video and it works fine like that. Also tried exporting an AAF and it crashes as well.

I'm working off of a ISIS backup on a RAID.

    What format is your audio?
    Can you consolidate audio only?

All of the audio has been imported, so it's MXF media.

No, I cannot consolidate audio only. But I can consolidate video only.

I also cannot export an audio only AAF.

In your Audio Projects Settings is Wave (OMF), AIFF-C(OMF), or PCM (MXF) selected?

Is this is for backup purposes? If so as Audio Files are relatively small would it work for you to Batch Re-import the original files to your external disk?

    PCM (MXF)

We are currently making changes to a project that used to live on an ISIS. This would not be for backup purposes.

    Re: Consolidate crashes Avid

    Couple of suggestions.

    - Have you tried exporting a singe audio file - or are you exporting everthing together. It maybe one corrupted clip.

    - Try transcodeing the clip to your selected drive instead.

    - Check there's no permission issues with the Raid drive - test a consolidate to another drive.

    - import an audio file and export it to check if its to do with your software of the way your source material was encoded.

    Good luck
