Hi,I am coming from the world of Sony Vegas so I've been watching the tutorials to learn basics. I got to a turorial video on titling and the option is greyed out in tools menu and nothing happens when I select the button in the composer window. Is it broke or purposefully turned off?
Thanks,
Dennis

Sadly the standard Avid Title tool hasn't been included in Avids development of greater than HD resolutions. It only works in HD or lower res projects. For titles in 2K 4K or any other greater than HD formats you need to use a 3rd party product. New Blue Titler Pro is the "suggested" option and you should see it offered in the app manager.
Depending on you licensing option you will be eligable for an older version for free or can purchase a new version.
Its an advanced titling tool but you m,ay find it somewhat over the top for simle and quick titles.

I am on version 8.8.5. The video is DNxHD 145 (HD1080p) from a first generation iPad mini, I don't have anything greater than HD quality that isn't 5.1 Surround also.
I had to delete the project and start over. When I used the source browser the first time I chose import and not link and the source file was originally 1080P, 44.1Khz, 24 frames/second. 16 bit. The files after being imported were 24 bit, 48Khz 1080P. After trying again with link selected, the Title Tool Application functioned as I originally expected.
