Windows 7 SP1: Install all updates?

The installation of the newest driver for my AJA io Express box failed.

AJA support mentioned to install all pending updates for my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1 installation.

Since now I didn't install any update. The computer was completly offline.

I now downloaded a current update package.

Are there any updates I have to skip?

Will the update in general lead to any conflicts with the Avid installation?

I would strongly recommend taking an image of your drive (using something like Acronis) before applying any updates.

I have heard of cases of updates causing Windows to go into an endless boot cycle (just Google it, if you don't believe me).

Re: Windows 7 SP1: Install all updates?

I would suggest a Windows restore to a point before the AJA install.

MC6.0.5, QT version 7.7.3, AvidFX 6.2(64bit), Squeeze Pro 8.5.0.41, AvidDVD 6.4.4 (still in my system, but I don't use it anymore), Boris Continuum... [view my complete system specs]

Thank you all very much for your suggestions!

I finally ended in installing ALL win updates.

I anyway cleaned up the Avid, so...

I'll report back if I'm running into problems related to ALL updates:)
