    Stabilise effect's premature start.

When I add the stabilise effect to a clip, it immediately charges off analysing the clip, before I get a chance to set the thing up to suit my requirements. Is that just the way it must be or is there a way to add the effect, that avoids this wilful behaviour?

Does it make any difference whether the adjustments are made before or after the analysis of the clip happens?

I believe the analysis must happen before you select adjustments (and when you change adjustments, you'll notice that it does not re-analyze - or am I mis-remembering how it works?).

    Re: Stabilise effect's premature start.

I know many of the selections such as auto zoom, reference point etc. can be made after the analysis but there is also a box, as with the trackers,  that can be positioned on a feature or group of pixels. Is that even part of the stabiliser or is it unused in stabilisation?

If the analysis starts before that box can be positioned and it has no function in the stabilisation process, then it can only be there to wind up fools like me.
