Avid DVD Error - DVDErr, -20404

    When building video files/disk image/disk:

I get the error "Could not complete the last command because:  The data rate of this file is too high for DVD.  You must replace the file with one of a lower data rate. (DVDErr,-20404)"

The data rate for my video is 7782Kbps which seems well below the max rate of 9000Kbps.

Has anyone else experienced this error?

    Thanks

Re: Avid DVD Error - DVDErr, -20404

I re-compressed my video at 6000Kbps which fixed that problem but then gave me another error:

"Use of invalid editor:AuthorCore::PGCEditorBase"  I couldn't find any threads on this error, but when I turned off the OpenDVD option the project complied and burned fine.

Just wanted to update the post incase someone else was having similar problems.

I have the same problem. Is there any solution?

My system is  runing toolkit 5.2.1 with QT 7.0.3. Using sorenson squeez 4.3.3.

I tried to lower data rate to 6218Kbps total, but the error is still there.

    Thanks

Thanks for posting your updates about this.  Been having the same "Could not complete the last command because:  The data rate of this file is too high for DVD.  You must replace the file with one of a lower data rate. (DVDErr,-20404)" problem myself.

What I found is that the error is related to the movie file I was using for the menu.  The video was encoded at 7800k with AC3 at 384k.  Movie files I'm using as regular movies, not menus, work fine.  So once I re-encoded the menu video to 7000k still with AC3 at 384k, then everything worked again.

    Thanks again.
