Appologizes if this is redundant.
It would be amazing to have the option to render all clip-based effects with a user definable set of handles. When working with really heavy effects (BCC 10), making a tiny trim or changing from a cut to a dissolve can blow away a 12 minute render.
I'd rather increase my initial render time by including handles than re-rendering when I'm fine-tuning edits. If further changes to a clip are within the handle threshold the Avid shouldn't "go blue".
To make this work there may also need to be a "keyframe lock" that prevents the start or end keyframe from changing position during a trim operation as this would require a re-calculation by the effect. Anyhow, I'll leave the mechanics of this to smarter people:)
This could be implemented as just another type of render: Render, Expert Render, Render with Handles

This is a great idea.
Robert, you may find it helpful to switch from 'Elastic' to 'Fixed' in the right-click keyframe menu. This effectively locks your keyframes into position and (I think) if you do a trim on the effect it'll only need to render the new portion of the clip if nothing else has changed.
The above doesn't apply to the older plugin UIs (e.g, paint/animatte) - only the newer ones with advanced keyframing (which includes pretty much all your BCC/sapphire effects)
