    Re: Reflection removal/mask

That can be quite complex to remove or very simple depending on the reflected background.  There is no simple plug in that works in all cases.  The technique that I usually use is to replace the reflection with "believable" background.  This has to be tracked to mirror any camera moves, which can be a challenge, and any reflections that you want to keep will need to be masked/rotoscoped.

Avid isn't the tool that you need to do it, either.  This is a video compositing operation.  You need Nuke, After Effects, Fusion or similar to really do this cleanly.

Here are two vids for Boris now you see it now you don't.

This may be a way to stay in Avid. Like JWRL I also would perform it in a compositor.

Looked online for a clip of that type to fool around with. Did not find any. Guess no one wants to post that kind of pub. The good news for you is you may have what is called a "clean" plate since you have all the footage. This will really help with what every way you decide to tackle this.

The SF clips above are not Boris but were done in Shake using Furnace by The Foundry

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look at the tutorials again. I fink for the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't, they use BCC.

I don't have a clean plate this is actually some online footage to practice editing on.

I'm tying to paste a picture of it.

If that's the case post a link of the footage here. Some people would rather give a shot at that than this! Big Smile

Definitely. Its a practice at 4k footage; but, there are other things to learn from it.

The shot is of a girl banging on a glass door.

The camera man is on the other side of the door and his reflection can be seen.

    Re: Reflection removal/mask

That site had lots of footage and takes. This is the one I saw that was obvious.

You see him through the window on the left and as the door closes his reflection on the glass

Was going to put glass brick on the window, still may do that.

As the door was closing had to use a Roto Tracker.
