Re: Record Monitor not updating while trimming in MC 8.5 or 8.5.1

Its not showing the correct source when a mask or any effect track is being used, so very much still an issue.

Extend the outgoing shot and we see the incoming shot in the left hand Composer window (and external monitor), not the outgoing shot as we should.

Trim the outgoing shot and it displays correctly in the Composer window. Turn off the mask track so no effect is in play and it displays correctly when extending.

So, this is a derivative of the same issue I would say. Whatever is going on, it no longer possible to edit with a mask track or any other effect track enabled I don't think.

It should be easy to reproduce. We've seen it on all 7 of our systems which are 8.8.4 and 8.8.5. We have tried with the hardware (DNxIO) enabled and disabled - no difference. We have also tried toggling Frame Caching and a load of other settings related to video display, nothing so far has made any difference.

Let me know if you need a screen capture of the issue.

Is everyone in this thread using DNxIO or other Blackmagic hardware?

    Hi Mark,

It's happening on my laptop too without any hardware attached.

I also saw that Joe in this thread replied:

'Ive disconected the Aja box and it still does it.'

So probably not a hardware related issue.

Thanks Jasper, sorry I should have spotted that. So its def an Avid software issue then.

I showed this issue to our AVID rep when he came out to give us a tutorial on our upgrade (8.6.5) He said he'd refer it to the bug fixers but I haven't heard anything. This is definitley a problem that needs to be fixed ASAP.
