    XDCAM MXF OP1a - Export: Assertion failed Error

    When exporting a sequence as XDCAM MXF OP1a (HD 50Mbits) I often get an Assertion Failed Error and cannot finish the export.

    Assertion failed: m_prevGOP->m_firstFrame == 0, file /Snapshots/relengyosemite2_1453950459/coresw/ImportExport/src/MpegExport/MPEGSampleCache.cpp, line 197

    Project is 1080i50, all used media are freshly ingested (consolidated) XDCAM-HD-422 (Sony) clips and some transcoded files (DNxHD120). Exporting small bits of the timeline for example three edits, only the XDCAM files can invoke the error. Must have something to do with MPEG gop structure ordering during export computation. Workaround for now is doing a video mixdown and then export. That is as always a rock solid workflow but takes extra time we have to avoid for tight daily deadlines... My beloved Console (CMD+6) also quarried an                                                                                                 ExportFileToXDCAM returns false because of [bad VBV level] exception                                                                                                                                                                                                   Thank you for helpful hints!

    Re: XDCAM MXF OP1a - Export: Assertion failed Error

    Hello Everyone!

    We also ran into the same error message/problem on Windows with MC 8.5. It turned out the cause of the error message was a rendered effect file on the timeline, because after we cleared the suspicious render file the export of the sequence completed without any errors. It this an 8.5 related problem? Is it fixed in 8.5.1?

    I really like to know before we do an update to system, because we are currently in project and this issue only happened once apart from that we are running stable.

    Thanks

    Hello TrekGate,

    After installing 8.5.1 we didn't run into this error again. You should consider an update after you finished your project ;-)

    Thank you AVID support team for your fast reaction and dedicated care!
