    OS ERROR

Hi! Since I've installed WIN 10 PRO on my PC, I received "OS ERROR" on launch my MC (version 8.5)! Every day! I've followed these tips (http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Error_Message/en364211), but nothing changed! I have to close the application and restart PC. What can I do to solve it definitely?? Thanks to all!

Did you have any older versions of MC on this system prior to 8.5?   If you did, then remove Avid  with the Media Composer installer.  Delete any remaining Avid folders and files (like extensions you can find).   In the case where an older version use to be installed, there were 2 Media Composer folders present and that was the issue. Reboot the computer. Run the disk utility and fix disk permissions. Install Media Composer again.

If that is NOT it, what happens if you remove the Ntirs and its driver and try as a software only Win 10 system?

    Report back?

    Re: OS ERROR

    Thanks Marianna,

no previous version of MC, I use to remove it before installing the new release. I think the problem is NITRIS, I remove the hardware and its drivers, and MC starts normally. But now I don't know how to re-install Nitris' driver! I thought it would be automatic!

    Re: OS ERROR

I've had the exact same error message happening for a few years now, always from a cold startup, mostly on one machine (Avid 2 in my system specs), and I'm still getting it even though I've upgraded to Win 10 and MC 8.5...

The only way I ever found to deal with it is just do a restart...

    Re: OS ERROR

Hi, I got the same issue here, after fresh install of windows 10.

My workaround is to go to device manager. Then first deactivate mojo dx and then reactivate it. No reboot is necessary and the os error is gone for this session.

    Re: OS ERROR

    Hi Zonik.

Glad to hear somebody has figured a workaround how to solve it.

Having this issue for years on win 7,8 even on qualified workstations Nitris, Mojo doesnt matter.

    Re: OS ERROR

Disable and enable the device works only temporary.

I had the same problem with Windows 10 and Media Composer 8.6.1.

Uninstall the Nitris driver and install again the driver.

And may be this was the solution.

Power Options >Choose what the power button do > Turn on fast start-up "Disable!!!" this option

    Re: OS ERROR

I've seen this too on a client's machine

    using MC 6.5

happens about monthly since microsoft's forced upgrade win 7 to 10. (close GWX means install update? oh, how much i hate 'em)

I'm using the deactivate, reactivate trick in device manager.
