Roundtrip workflow MC and DaVinci Resolve?

Due to the extended and increasing amount of material that the productions are filming and the use of "too many" cameras and codecs, we need to go "low-resolution" offline editing and then link back to original media via Resolve to make the grading(color correction. What experiences do you have with this kind of workflow?

What way is the best way of going?

What are the pros and cons?

What is the key things to be aware of?

you might also have a look at Baselight for Avid if you are open to other options. Would allow you to stay inside MC for more of your grading.
