Hello
I am having trouble finding the right AMA plugin for the sony a7s camera format.
Info example
Kind: MPEG-4 movie
Codecs: H.264, Linear PCM
Can anyone help me with this?
Best Regards
Are they standalone MP4 files? Or are they contained within a deeper folder structure? Is it AVCHD?
If it's AVCHD, the plugin is installed already with Media Composer. Just link to one level ABOVE the "PRIVATE" folder and all your clips should show up.
If it's individual MP4 files with no surrounding folder structure at all, just link to the files - the QuickTime plugin should take care of it.

Thanks for your reply.
MC does not currently support XAVC-S. You have to transcode.

Are you on Windows or a Mac? Generally, you should post topics in the forum for the platform you're using, and/or put your system specs in your profile.
The reason I ask is - there are good, effective tools available for transcoding (actually, rewrapping) your media. On the Mac, there's EditReady, a reputable, effective product that has the option to rewrap your raw media in its original codec, while carrying all metadata including timecode. It's a paid product, but it's a timesaver, the developer is responsive, and it works. Much better than many of the apps that appear near the top of search results that spam forums and appear prominently in articles like the old-but-still-very-relevant Speaking With Spammers. On Windows, ClipToolz Convert is free and accomplishes largely the same thing. You may also be able to use one of Sony's Catalyst tools or Content Browser, but I haven't had to deal with XAVC content so I don't know the workflow.
I have been using Cliptoolz2 convert for the past year with my Sony FDR AX100. I wrap the MP4 camera files to MOV, which takes virtually seconds per file, and they will Link into MC. Let me know if you have problems locating the download and I can send you a ZIP file of it. It is a small program.

Yeah , tons of threads about this now , maybe these plugins should be included inside Avids own ama support pages , I don´t think that they are yet
I installed the mediareactor on my IMAC, went to AMA Link import in Meida Composer and there is no mediareactor option that I can select?Could it be that this Mediareactor cant work with the latest version of Media Composer?
I am gonna try EditReady tomorrow, but then I have to transcode the files which is very annoying, when I could just ama link to the original files.
I think it is just time for Avid to fix this problem so we could just ama link any video codecs, without a problem.

I think that we need your system specs to be able to troubleshoot this , you can add them to your user profile so that we don´t need to ask again.
XAVC-S is demanded by almost everyone since a year. Why is Avid not listening?
Some have been switching to Edius. What is going on? Why is Avid sabotaging it´s own products?
At least an official statement as when it will be implemented would be nice, so I know that investing in Avid again was not a mistake.
This has been covered many times in the forum. Currently, if you want to use XAVC-S you need a 3rd party plug-in called MediaReactor from drastic.tv. Please see this thread: http://community.avid.com/forums/p/137301/779357.aspx#779357.

I've added your post to the existing XAVC-S thread.

Because the guys and girls from Drastic also need to make a living.
AFAIK since Avid left the AMA plugin design to the camera manufacturers it has become the camera manufacturers commercial decision whether or not they invest time into developing an AMA plugin. I'm not saying I'm happy with this but I do understand that in a market where each camera manufacturers thinks it can have its own unique way of using codecs, metadata content and method of file/folder storage that Avid decided to leave the AMA plugin development to 3rd parties.
