    AMT and configured duration limit

    Hi,

    importing large mxf files into Interplay/ISIS using AMT gives the following AMT error:

    [sources\CORE\GHWriter.cpp:1530] Could not write frame as configured duration limit (216000 frames) was reached.

    Could I retrieve the configured limit via AMT, WebService or any other Interplay API in order to handle this case in my software before I hit this limit?

    Regards,
    Kai

    Re: AMT and configured duration limit

    Hi again,

    is it possible at all to configure the duration limit? Or is it fixed and we have to split the file?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Re: AMT and configured duration limit

    Kai,

    You can specify the maximum duration in the AmtMediaAttributes section in the XML file.

    Here is the comment in the AMT.xsd:

    <!-- In Edit-While-Capture creation of variable size per frame media (e.g. Long-GOP MPEG-2 or SMPTE ST 436 ANC data packets), this value specifies the maximum media duration that can be recoded as a count of frames. -->
    <xs:element name="maxDuration" type="xs:unsignedInt"/>

    You can see an example in XDCAM-HD_50mbps_1080i_60_8A_24bits_DROP_4_hour_max.XML:

    <AmtMediaAttributes>
    . . .
    <maxDuration>431568</maxDuration>
    </AmtMediaAttributes>

    Also, please see this tech note on maximum clip lengths for Media Composer:

    Hope this helps,

    - Rob
