Hi,
I'm trying to activate MC trial version 8.4.1 on my MID 2010 MacBook Pro (2.66GHZ I7) . I'm running Yosemite 10.10.5 with only 4GB RAM. The activation fails almost immediately with the message: "assertion failed: M.P. PrimaryBufferPTR..."
Is this problem caused by the shortfall in RAM or are there other causes?
Thanks.

Not enough RAM, sir.

Nice work getting Yosemite!

Ask me about Mimiq and Mimiq Pro!
Thanks Isaquito. I had to take a walk on the wild side to find Yosemite. Amazing how utterly useless Apple was in this regard. Polite but a total waste of time.
I'm off downtown to buy some RAM today. No time to wait on a Newegg order--I've got to be up and running by tomorrow morning. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.
Swapping out 2 x 2GB for 2 x 4GB. I would have liked to have gone to 16GB but a mid 2010 MBP is not rated that for so much RAM. In any event, I hope it does the trick or I'm out of ideas!

10.10.5 and the 2 x 4 GB config is what I use myself on that exact MBP for fast mobile jobs , somewhat slow but doing it´s job .

Woo-hoo! it's up and running! Thanks to everybody for the input.
Another question (probably merits a separate thread): If I use an I/O device such as BlackMagic Mini Monitor which occupies the Displayport, how do I connect the second computer monitor to my MBP?
Would a thunderbolt dock work? Any thoughts?

If I have your specs right:

Your MacBook doesn't have Thunderbolt. I'm not sure what I/O option could work, given your situation. Adding another display and working fullscreen mode would work, though. Sorry!
Thanks to your help Isaac, I am currently working on my MBP with a 32" monitor through the miniDisplayPort.
Could I patch a dock into the miniDisplayPort, with a Thunderbolt out going to the Blackmagic Mini Monitor Box and a HMDIout to the 2nd coputer screen?

See question 6. (Sorry.)

I have used that displayport for most screens and also had it connected to a projector.
As the third screen I use a Matrox mini as told in my specs , it´s connected to the EXcard slot using an EXcard stick and I´ve used both those external connections for mobile live streams

What do you mean by an "EXcard Stick". Would this fit into my SD card slot and can you show me an example of a product that is available? Finally, is it accurate enough for editing purposes--ieven a frame or two off is a problem.
From old memory there was a difference in connection slots between 15" and 17" 2010 MBP:s so lets begin here , what do you have , as in my profile the 17" version works well with the Matrox unit.
My mid-2010 MCP is the the 15" version. No thunderbolt...just AppleDisplayPort.
