Blackmagic Mini Monitor audio output MC 8.4

    Hello,

i have got a strange Problem here.

I´ve connected a Blackmagic Mini Monitor via Thunderbolt to my iMac and via HDMI to my Client Monitor, since i´ve done that Audio is gone, I see the meters while adio is playing, but no chance to get the Output back to my speakers (connected to the caldigt ts2)

FCPX and Resolve 12 play back Audio just fine and provide the Monitor with the accurat picture,

Why isn´t Avid capable of doing so?

    Any Ideas??

    kind regards

    I bought this:

    http://www.amazon.com/Kanex-Pro--Embedder-2-Channel-HAECOAX/dp/B009KAU0WO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439166823&sr=8-1&keywords=kanex+pro

to split the audio.  I run optical to my Apollo Twin.  You should watch for sync issues with a setup like this.  I don't notice any but others might.

Not sure exactly how you are running the speakers from the TS2 but the Kanex has both digital and analog out for audio.

    Hope that helps,
    Robert

    Thank you Robert,

i just ordered an Audio extractor which i have to put between two hdmi cables and plug in the speakers into that little thing.

    hope this will work

Sad that i have to pay for something what will work with other NLEs for free...

Some HDMI monitors have a analog audio output that will provide a decoded audio signal from the HDMI input and if so, it's likely to be in correct sync.

Must think of something clever to go here...

Not sure what you are saying but if one wants a standard video output from a computer (especially laptops and trashcan Mac Pros) then one wants something like the Min Monitor or a high priced solution like a DNxIO.

One cannot rely on the HDMI out on a computer to follow standards.  Also,  an HDMI output on a computer is not likely to be recognized as a VIDEO out as opposed to a MONITOR connection point.

    Y'all have some fun,

    Robert

I did explain wrong. Also my setup is obviously not very professional, other wise wouldnt use the mini monitor but.

I use a consumer monitor feed by the ultrastudio mini monitor.

But Avid fails to be able to select 2 different I/O for audio and image.

It all gets send through the mini monitor, which is frustrating, because there I have no good audio output. Just image/sound through hdmi/sdi.

I would much rather want to connect my speakers to my laptop and feed the consumer monitor with the ultrastudio mini.
