    What the heck is "Contransicode"??

Page 1 of the new MC Feature list pdf contains this new phrase which I have never heard before.  What is it referring to?

I know consolidate.  I know transcode.  Contransicode? Answers on a postcard please...

Good question. Perhaps Avid has coined a new term?

...a distinguishing feature that absolutely no one else has?

It is not a typo, as I saw this at NAB on a doc touting all the new features - nor is it English...

Sounds like a mash up of "Consolidate" and "Transcode". Beyond that, who knows.

Re: What the heck is "Contransicode"??

    It's soooooo obvious! Contransicode

    Con=With    Trans=Transcendental Meditation    I=Self    Code=Morse Code

All transcoding, consolidating will be done by one of two methods. 1. Using a keyboard typing . . . _ _ _ . . _ _   2. Mentally, without the use of keyboards or mice

I'm beginning to wonder if that guide was released on April 1st? What if I'm missing out on some incredible time-saving feature? Whatever it is, it's exclusive to Avid and should start featuring more prominently in their promotional material! - "CONTRANSICODE:  No one can match it - because no one knows what it does!"

Re: What the heck is "Contransicode"??

    Well

    Find the definition

    CONTRANSICODE :

DMF profile that will dynamically Consolidate native media and Transcode non-native media in one operation

Re: What the heck is "Contransicode"??

Amazing! Been asking for this for years. But why limit it to DMF.

Most users need it for every day operations.

Most users care little about how or why MC needs to consolidate or transcode. They just want media made.

Cudos to you cazzimir!!  Great to know! And agree with Pat, this should be a regular feature under the Consolidate/Transcode menu!
