I have Master Clips that were not AMA linked to footage and the media is currently MXF files; how to I get them to come back together?
I am running a Mac with AMC 8.3.0
I'm going to make some assumptions based on the minimal information you've provided.
Assuming:
1. These clips were originally imported.
2. They are regular avid codec op-atom mxf files.
3. They reside in an Avid Mediafiles/mxf/# folder
All you have to do is open the media tool point it to the proper drive and choose all projects. The master clips should appear there. Drag them into a bin.
If that is not your situation, please explain further.
Hi,
I found the mxf files, they were in an AvidMediafiles/mxf/computer_name_of_import folder
I now made a new workspace with the folders Avid Mediafiles/mxf/1
the original master clips were made from an offsite location, this provider sent us the media files and bins on a harddrive. I'm not sure though now if i should batch import or relink via AMA?

Neither. Make sure they are in /Avid Mediafiles/mxf/# folder at the root of one of your media drives. Copy the provided bins into one of your projects and the clips should relink automatically.
Thank you! I did this for the drive that "wanted" the media on, but for some reason it would not produce the database file(s) for avid to recognize the media. As a test I went in my project and created tone media to see where the media would be stored; it ended up being a different drive (with your recommended root) so I moved my media there and it is now online (just not in the desired location, but its available which is all that matters).
