Trouble with import into bin. New installation of MC8.3

When I try to import jpg pictures into bin I get this message:

    .

And when I try to import music (I have only tried MP3 files from proTools), I get this message:

I get a music file in my bin, but no sound.

Anyone help would be very much appreciated!

When I try to import jpg pictures
I have just imported 10  .jpg images into PC MC 8.3 (Was an update from 8.2) The jpg's where 1920:1080 RGB and imported into a new 8.3 1080 25P rroject.   FWIW thy where the fasted imports I have seen in any version of MC.

I do not have any MP3's from Protools (I create and use .wav files from Protools) I have just tried 6 music mp3's from different (supplied to me by clients) sources (one was ripped from a commercial CD) and all of those imported and played in 8.3.  So did .wav files from Protools.

Have you tries these particular mp3's in other previous versions on MC? Or do you have an MP3 that you know worked in a previous version of MC to test?

    Hi Andrew

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I just tried what you suggested, but I get the same error message with Wav files as I did with the MP3 files. When I try to rip from a commercial CD, it seems to go fine, but no file appears in the selected bin.

Where are your JPG files? The 'DISK_ACCESS_ERROR' is somewhat of a concern. Are they on some external media that is write-protected? Not that it should matter but perhaps MC is trying to access the source location in write mode? Try copying the JPGs to a local drive, etc.

Yes Also are you dragging and dropping your files or using the Import menu and selecting them?  (in testing I used the Import menu)

Re: Trouble with import into bin. New installation of MC8.3

I tried to copy files to another HDD, with the same result on both audio and video. I made a new installation of W7 sp1 before installation of MC8.3. It seems all folders are write protected. Im not able to uncheck the write protection on any of the folders. I am ofcourse logged in as administrator. This might be a Windows 7 problem.

I would make a new folder on the drive and drag a couple of the graphics into it. Then check that I could import them into MC.

FWIW here is a link to the Windows Communnity- how to unlock a windows 7 folder after a Windows update

Re: Trouble with import into bin. New installation of MC8.3

I cheked out the windows site, but it did not help. I think this is a MC problem. I manage to import audio now, but no graphics or video. Graphics gives the DISK_ACCESS_DENIED. I tried to import from several different disks. With video I get this message:

And to top it all I got this message when I tried to use a Audiosuite plugin:

Editing has become a bit difficult since my upgrade...... Hope for some more help here :)
