I have made some changes to an old PAL project and found certain effects render with a band or green or purple or a repeated part of the image at the top and or bottom of the frame, it flickers. I swithced to HD and it renders fine.
I have only just updated to 8.3 from 7.0.4, I updated the grapics driver, but made no changes to the defaults, I also updated QT 7.6.6.
Not a big issue as it has a simple work around but I would like to know if anyone else has this issue.
Thanks

Hi Mike.
Project settings, type of effects and render codec should help, also if you are rendering automatic or have forced it to render 8 or 10 bits

Mask, resize, fade to colour, I didn't check any others.
Rendering on the fly and also rendered to disk as 1:1, automatic bit depth fx processing. In pal I belive you can only use 601.
I have found rendering in 16 bit solves the issue. 8 bit has issues. Oddly automatic subsequently also renders fine.

Ok, thanks, so if 16 bits solves this just leave it this way
Well it seem to fix it... Not sure why it worked, I could not repeat the success of the initial switching between 8 and 16 bit. Nevermind who works in PAL anyway?
Will try to find the time to open up some old 25i projects tomorrow and take a look
Just tested on an origin tape capture and DV 20 applying a resize and render to 1 : 1 with 8 bits render settings without seeing this so not able to reproduce here sorry
