Hi,
I'm trying to put some D-verb onto a sound clip. I set up the sound fx fine, but when I go to actually try out some reverb the Preview panel is greyed out, with a notification that the sample rate is not what the set-up likes. Checking the audio, SR is at 44,100, but trying to right-click and "Change Audio Rate" isn't an option as it is greyed out. What to do? And why would MC have, I think, three different sample rates when at least one of them isn't liked by its own 'tools for change'? Thanks,
DC
Hi DC, you really should add your system specs to your profile to get better and faster help, fact is that we don´t even know if you are using a PC or Mac
Tomas
The project sample rate and the clip sample rate need to match in order for AudioSuite Preview to work. MC lets you work with mixed SR's, just not on AS Previews.
How do I add System Specs, manually or is there an automatic reading of some description?
Ok, I suppose it's a bit late now to change the SR. But why, technically, would the preview panel have an issue with this? Also, is there a workaround of some description, as I want to tinker with certain sound clips?
Hi, I'dd like to add my system specs. How to do it?
SupermanDan.... (love your name BTW).....
In the right hand corner of the screen you should see you name nexr to Welcome. Click on that.
this will take you to the About SupermanDan1 screen. On the left side you will see Options ( I copied mine page for an example).
Give it a go.

Hi Marianna, I did this, tho saw nothing leading to inputting/altering system specs.
Click the Profile Options tab and you'll see a block called System Specs.

OK, done, thank you. Coming back to the query, why have a Preview panel that doesn't work on some of the choices available? I wantto place a little reverb on an audio clip, but simply can't "get at" the clip and make adjustments.
It´s a very underpowered system with a not certified OS , " might " work with certain old Avid versions anyhow, what version of Avid is used ( not in the specs )
Supermandan1: I suppose it's a bit late now to change the SR.
I have no idea whatsoever why AudioSuite does not let you preview with SR conversion, but my best guess would be that the 32bit AudioSuite engine is too limited to use enough resources to pull that off reliably.
Sorry to be stupid, but how do I check into Audio Project Settings? As said above, right-click to change SR is greyed-out. Please advise, DC

How is his system 'very' underpowered? He has a quad core i7 processor with ram similar to some of the current recommended laptops. Home Premium is admittedly unsupported but shouldn't be the problem here.
Supermandan1, go to the settings tab on your project window, where all the bins are listed and click the tab settings. There you will see Audio Project settings near the top. Open it and you will see on the main tab the setting you need to check.
If SR conversion is greyed out (I don't know why too) you could try transcoding to another SR, right-click and choose Consolidate/Transcode on the problem clips.
Failing that it might possibly be a permissions problem relating to Home Premium. Go to your media drives on the desktop and click properties, security and create an 'Everyone' setting checking all permissions.
Hi Mercer, I just updated my specs from 6 to 8 GB, which may account for the earlier comment. Ok, I checked Consolidate/Transcode. Before going ahead with this, what's the difference between the two? Does the system then create & store new media? As I've already done quite a bit of fiddling with sound clips, will my existing edits be affected at all?
