I seem to be having a strange problem. I deleted a BCC noise plug in effect but even though it's gone when I click on the track it seems to affect something however nothing is on the track to be changing the way the composite window looks.
When I click on V5 layer it makes the picture darker even though nothing is there to affect it. Also the noise layer is making the color correction layer darker for the whole track. I don't think this is supposed to happen.
(open image in new tab to see all)
The video layers are:
V5- BCC noise
V4-BCC Color correction brighten
V3- BCC film process
V2- layer effects (more clips with effects on)
V1- Groups clips layer and Color correction

My guess is that for some reason, even though you deleted the effect, the render might be hanging on.
Mark In and Out of the section, right clck and I think you will find a delete render for selected region (or something along those lines - can not check machine right now).
That will get rid of any renders in the selected area.
Just a guess ....
Good luck,
Jef

Thanks for responding, I did see where you could clear all renders in and out but enabling all tracks and clearing renders did not help. Very perplexing. You can see a video of what is happening from the zip file attached.
also use the password "track" to view it here:

Your top track says V1 - did you rearrange your tracks? I've seen that go wrong in the past.

yes, I used Ctrl and left click to move some of the tracks. You would think they would work independent of each other.
Good eyes. They are not independent. They still operate with the order of the tracks. So I think the issue has been solve. Put them back in order and rearrange your time line to set things straight.

That, Ronald, is one reason why using Boris Red to do the effects (if possible) is a good idea.
Boris Red (Avid FX) can use the MC tracks inside of Boris Red in any order you want.

Whether you're doing the effects within MC or using a third-party app, it's still a good idea to keep the tracks in the right order. I've seen people get confused by what the track monitor was showing when their tracks were out of order, or getting unexpected results on mixdowns for the same reason.

One does have to wonder why avid even allows moving tracks. Is there a way to move tracks without falling victim to this issue? In the past I've had to reconstruct my sequence by using the original sequence as source (alt c) and then patching the (source) tracks into the new sequence order.

What helped me in this regard is the ability to insert a new video track exactly where I want in the stack. With mac I think the command is Option Shift Y (not sure about that). You select Insert and which track you wish the new track to be. All exsisting tracks are pushed up a number. Then you can move things around as needed.
Thanks for all the help, I did not noticed the problem when I put the tracks back in order and tested the noise above the CC brighten layer.
