So I know that the title of this post is awkward sounding. Basically though, I wanted to tell the admins of a problem that I'm having with Media Composer 8.1 with our Interplay system and how to fix it. Some others may have this problem, unless it's just happening on our system.
Basically, there have been multiple times where I have control copied a sequence out of Interplay from another project into my current project. It looks like this though once it's brought into Avid....
See how all of the audio tracks except the one on the bottom that says "mixdown" all appear to be mixdown tracks or filler tracks. If you turn them on, they still play audio, but when you click on them, they select as one. You can fix this by going opening the project where the original sequence is, turning on the power for every audio track, saving the bin to interplay, then drag the new "updated" sequence with the powered on audio tracks into your project again and in doing so it will look like this.
I hope this makes sense to anyone who is having this issue. It's happening for us on our Interplay system in Avid 8.1, and it may be a known issue but if not, I thought I would share it so for anyone who is struggling. Sorry for the bad grammar and typos haha, it's almost 2am and i've been at work since 9am... Comment if you have any questions and I'll try to get back with you asap.
