Final Cut Envy... Exporting Alpha Channel

An FCP editor sent me animated lower thirds as a .mov file with alpha channel.  He said it was easy to export.   There are many times I would like to export just an alpha channel track from MC.  Whenever I do this, the export does not retain the alpha channel.

Is there a way to do this directly from MC?

Avid doesn't support alpha channels on export.  You could export the graphic fill and the black and white matte as two separate files, and whoever you give them to could recomposite them on their end.

Or import them into After Effects (if you have that) and export out as a Quicktime w/ alpha enabled.

I hope a future release will add this ability.   If other NLE's can do it, Avid needs to stay competitive.   It's a useful and much needed feature.

I don't have AE.   Can I do the same thing with AvidFX?
