Hey, I have an embarrasing mistake I made and I cannot figure out a way to solve it. (After days and days of failed attempts)
I shot footage for a short film with a canon 5D mark 2. 24fps 1080p. When opening up a new Avid project I somehow created the project as 30fps. The source material was imported and transcoded to DNxHD. After editing my entire sequence along with all VFX, sound and everything else, I realized my mistake. So accepting the 30fps sequence I attempted to export, sending to quicktime DNxHD, seeing as how H.264 offers terrible quality. But I found Avid does not do DNxHD, 30fps 1080. Sooo, next option was to open a new project and import my sequence into the proper 24fps project settings. This is what I initially should have done and the video quality after export looks great.
Now my problem is the audio is out of sync. But not the entire sequence, only random places throughout the timeline. I've tried tons of different tricks to fix the audio including exporting it from the first 30fps project with a lower and higher sample rate, then importing it back into the 24fps project. I've even tried converting the exported audio to 24fps via a program called WAV Agent, then importing back into the 24fps project. Nothing works. Still out of sync in some areas and perfect in others.
The strangest part is the Audio is the exact same duration as the video yet out of sync. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them!
Thanks!
Go back to the original 30fps Project. Do an audio mixdown of the audio and a video mixdown of the video.
Make a new sequence of those elements and check audio is still in sync.
Then try exporting that (either in the 30fps project or in the 24fps project)
Can't see much point in going back to 24fps because the original import will have frmae blended from 24fps to 30fps (And I'm surpirsed you didn't see blended frames in your clips) So you effectively have 30fps media now so you may as well stick with it. Going back to 24fps will just re-blend the media.

Thanks for the quick reply. Fortunately I found that exporting the 30fps sequence with Sorenson squeeze, then compressing with H.264 in Mpeg Streamclip worked perfectly, besides a few scanlines that i'll remove with de interlacing.
