    Avid Transfer Client from 2.3/2.4 to 2.5, 2.6, 2.7

    Hello,

    We are interfacing to Avid Interplay Web Services and Transfer Manager.  We launched some years ago with Avid Client 2.3 and now the customer has jumped to 2.7 this weekend.  We have found that when we send content into Avid we are getting a error when we attempt to create folders prior to sending in the content via Transfer Manager.  With Avid Client 2.3 and 2.4 our command still works (their servers are on 2.7) but as soon as we try with 2.5, 2.6, and 2.7 we get a error from the Avid Client.

    Here is our logging below.  I do not have the extact code that is written since I am not a software writer - I am just trying to find out what changed between Avid Client 2.4 and 2.5.

    <LogInfo>Creating Folder interplay://dsscgroup/Incoming Media/TUR/TMD/5052722</LogInfo>

    <LogInfo>Trying to create folder: interplay://dsscgroup/Incoming Media/TUR/TMD/5052722</LogInfo>

    <LogInfo>Error: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: uri</LogInfo>

    Richard,

    I heard back from the developers. They have follow-up questions.

    Are you using Interplay Production Web Services to create the folder?

    If so, are you using the CreateFolder or CreateFolders call? (or both?)

    Please try using SoapUI (or similar) app to run a test like this:

    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:typ="http://avid.com/interplay/ws/assets/types">

       <soapenv:Header>

          <typ:UserCredentials>

             <typ:Username>username</typ:Username>

             <typ:Password>password</typ:Password>

          </typ:UserCredentials>

       </soapenv:Header>

       <soapenv:Body>

          <typ:CreateFolder>

                <typ:InterplayURI>interplay://WGC/Projects/Test</typ:InterplayURI>

          </typ:CreateFolder>

       </soapenv:Body>

    </soapenv:Envelope>

    If the InterplayURI parameter is missing, you will get a response like this:

                <Error Code="INVALID_PARAMETER">

                   <Message>An invalid parameter was used</Message>

                   <Details>The parameter InterplayURI is missing or blank.</Details>

                </Error>

    I think at the folder creation is at the TMAuto level but I have reached out to my Deveopler and not through the Interplay Web SOAP command.

    Seems we use Interplay WS to create our folders - I'll give SoapUI a try in there test enviroment - need to get the customer to update the client from 2.3 to their current 2.7 first.

    I actually figured this out.  We had to update our softwares AvidTMAuto.dll to version 2.5.0 from 2.2.0. from this SDK set: ftp://customer1:68uvfin21@ftp.avid.com/SDK_TMAutoAPI_Interplay_2.5.0.20120301_VC9.32and64.zip
