Hi Community, this is my first post
Our old qualified AVID machine packed it in the other day and rather than shedding out $4000 for a new one I've put together a build. What issues do you think I could hit along the way with this build:
Intel i7 3770k 3.5 ghzASUS P8Z77-V LX2 Motherboard8 Gig DDR3 RamQuadro 1500 GPU850Watt PSUAvid 6.5Windows 7 64-bit
No I/O etc, just software.
There are no guarantees with an off-spec system, and it might be harder to get help if something goes wrong.
That being said, as long as your windows 7 is pro or ultimate, that will likely work.

If you mean the Quadro FX 1500, there were known problems with Avid FX when running any Quadro FX cards that had a number ending in 500,
I have an FX 3500 and an FX 3700. The 3700 has never had any problems, the 3500 has.The FX 1500 had similar problems and the FX 1700 did not.
Now that was about 2 or 3 years ago. I am almost certain that any problems have been ironed out either in Nvidia drivers, or in the Avid FX application or even in MC.
I have not seen any problems with the latest versions together with my FX 3500 recently.
So this is not necessarily an issue nowadays. I just wanted to let you know.
Regards
Douglas

Welcome ... the 2 posts are spot on and as long as you use the right OS, drivers and are aware that milage may vary since it isnt a approved system, you should be ok.

The Quadro Fx1500 does not have enough memory. You should consider a K600. You need at least 1 gig video memory, the 1500 has 256meg.
