We need to determine what you really have, as you've provided conflicting information. First, see this Wiki article for an explanation of Avid's hardware history.
Avid has cycled through versions a second time. So, the first series ended at v12.0 in approx 1998. The second series started again at v1.0, and is now at v7.0. Your hardware is from the first series.
MC v6.5, of the first series, ran on ABVB hardware, not Meridien. The Meridien hardware started at v8.0, and ran through v12.0, so it's conflicting that you claim to have v6.5. Are you sure your MC software is licensed for v6.5? If so, how are you determining this?
Also, if you have Meridien external hardware, you also need the three internal PCI boards they connect to.

I hope you got a good deal on this and didn't get duped by an unscrupulous ebayer.

Hi it maybe conflicting because I omitted some of the text as I thought it would not be relevant. O dear it was from ebay but the guy seemed genuine. (What would I know) He works for Broadcasting House Manchester. Any way here is the full add

There are still some inconsistencies.
1) You mnetion Meridien in your orifginal post, however, the ad does not. When/where/why did you think Meridien was involved?
2) The MC Model 9000 ended with the first series of Avid versions @ v12.0. MC v6.5 was ABVB based (prior to Meridien), and did not support "uncompressed" video.
3) I've personally never heard of a model 9600 HP Workstation. At a minimum, Avid never supported one. In the "9000" series, there was only support for the 9300 and 9400, but these were much later, and typically only used with Dual-Boot Avid DS systems.
Could you post pictures of a)the computer front panel, showing the model number, b)the Digidesign hardware, c)any other external harware. If the dongle has a tag on it, please post everything EXCEPT the System ID and Serial Number.
The version you have was released circa 1996. v8.0 of this series was the first to feature "uncompressed SD video" (btw, the system you have is only capable of SD editing HD capability came with v2.0 (2nd series))
To help clarify the series delineation, v1.0 of the 2nd series was the first "post-Meridien" version. The last Meridien version (v12) was released in 2003.
I said it was Pro Tools Avid 888 I/O System + Meridien I/O Box DIGIDESIGN MH070-AV as I bought this hardware a week before to go with my Pro Tools software and there was one the same( well they look the same) with this bundle so I assumed they were the same.
As requested first the computer picture If it’s not clear enough it’s a CAMPAQ Evo W8000
The Digidesign Hardware Pics . I just have to work out how to upload them to this post.
Back soon.
Randall L Rike:If the dongle has a tag on it, please post everythong EXCEPT the System ID and Serial Number.
Please be sure to edit your post and remove the SysID and Serial#.
