Exception: Structured Exception, ExceptionCode: 3221225477, ExceptionString: Access_Violation
I'm receiving this message upon loading Media Composer 7.0.2 via Editshare. When I load it from the desktop icon it works fine, however via Editshare when it gets to 'Initializing Import/Export' the error appears. I can only click ok & it dumps me back to the desktop. This has only occured since I upgraded to 7.0.2 this morning. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Editshare to no avail, unistalled/reinstalled MC 7.0.2, and even downgraded again to 7, all with no success. The message still appears.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks
Stephen
I am getting the same error using the latest verion of Media Composer 8
I too am getting the ExceptionString Access_Violation. But it occurs each time I come out trim mode and hit play. As you can imagine, it's a frustrating issue:
Exception: Structured Exception, ExceptionCode: 3221225477, ExceptionString:ACCESS_VIOLATION, FaultAddress:0X0000000140AD7B7B, MiniDumpFileName:39ddcfe1-d7f8-477e-87b6-9a4518988fbc6.dmp
I did a database rebuild as well as rebuilding my keyboard settings from scratch and that didn't solve the issue. Any other suggestions on how to correct this problem would be great!
Cheers,-Richard

I have the same problem,

Also have the same error.MC 7.0.4.1 via Editshare- no one seems to have answers?
I am having the same problem now with MC 8.5
Dual Opteron 275, NVidia Quaddro FX3700, 4GB, Windows 7
Did anyone ever get an answer?! I am having the same issue for AVID NEWSCUTTER NITRIX DX.
Hi,
I got this advice from Avid Support.
It might be that the site settings are corrupt. Try resetting these:
C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Avid Media Composer\Settings (rename the folder to something else like 'Settings1' and then restart the Media Composer)
And it worked for me.
I've just installed 8.7 and can't do anything without this error message coming up. Renaming the Settings folder seems to have worked for now though as a fresh one was created.
Meanwhile deleting the "Settings"-Folder does not help anymore.
But I found out, that the problem is only occouring if my Panasonic P2 AMA Plugin ist installed.
It is the latest Version 4.7 of the Plugin for MC 8.4,3 an above.
So maybe the real problem is somwhere within the plugin.
I would be interested, if you are running this combination without any problems.
I have the same problem. Nothing seems to help.
I am having this same issue on multiple machines (we're on an ISIS network, sharing projects).
One editor got this error when he hit play on the timeline, clicked out of the error and was able to continue working fine.
I got this error when creating a new project. I clicked out of it and the project creation settings let me progress. However, I recived the error again 3 times while opening this new project before it finally dismissed.
We recently updated to 8.8.5
Anyone learn what is causing this error?
Melissa
Can you shed light on what media you are using ( format and kind ) and what comuters and OS?
Any crash logs generated?

Hi Marianna,
We are running MC 8.8.5 on Windows 7 on Z820s. All our media is transcoded (from multiple formats) to DNX 220x MXF in-program.
I did generate a crash log after I recieved the error while trying to create/open a new project, but I can't make any sense of it.
Here's a download link to that crash report:
