    Upgrading DVDit 6

Is it possible to upgrade Sonic DVDiT 6 on a PC without upgrading Avid?  We need BluRay burning capabilities.

    Cheers

Avid DVD 6.4.4 is available on the DL center.  If you need a newer version then you would need to buy it from Roxio who owns Sonic DVD.  The 6.4.4 is made for Avid and is the highest version offered.

You should have got the serial for DVD 6.4.4. with 6 or 6.5 if you upgraded to those.

    Hello Jack,

Maybe a typo when you say "Sonic DVDit" Sonic DVDit is not the same as Avid DVD.
Avid DVD is the equivalent of "DVDit Pro HD"
If you have DVDitProHD 6, you already should have Blu-Ray authoring.

The latest version of DVDitProHD (now EOL and extinct) was 6.4.2.643B02B  (The numbering convention is not the same as that used with Avid DVD - DVDitProHD 6.4.2 is actually an earlier version than Avid DVD 6.4.0 - confusing? Sad )

But as John pointed out, Sonic/Roxio no longer exist.

Avid DVD seems to be the only survivor, but I wonder how the future for that will be as the original Sonic DVDitProHD is already dead an burried.   (NB. I am just wondering - not speculating)

I know that Avid has said it will continue supplying Avid DVD with MC.

    Regards,
    Douglas

Cheers Douglas.  I've now successfully upgraded to Avid DVD 6 on that computer.  Seems all good.  Cheers.
