Since upgrading to AMC 7 I noticed it's gotten difficult to shift click and swipe across the track selector panel in the timeline to select or deselect multiple tracks. It just feels like it's somehow gotten sticky and I can't make it work sometimes.
I never had a problem doing this in AMC 6.
Anyone else noticing this or is it just me?

Same problem here, also can't seem to find Link AMA Volume anywhere.
Same here. At first, shift+click was clunky; had to click a few times to get the selection to start. After awhile shift+click doesn't even work when selecting tracks in the timeline sequence. Option+click and right click continue to work normally, and I can shift+click to deselect my tracks. Just shift for selection is having an issue.
Working with 10+ audio tracks and now just clicking/using keyboard shortcut to select tracks. Definitely slows me down.
Yah wicky, I got like 18 audio tracks and it's killin me. Forcing me to change my work patterns. Do not like.
Link to AMA Volume has been eliminated. There is a new AMA link dialog that has features from both of the old dialogs.
I'm having this problem too. Just upgraded to 7.0 two days ago and this is one of the things that has been bugging me.
Here are a few others:
Mouse scroll wheel no longer slides the timeline left and right.
I also notice that I can't quite work as fast as before. I seem to have to his several keys two are three times before they will activate. One example: I have play mapped to my space bar and after dragging the position bar to a new point in the timeline and then hitting the spacebar to play it almost never works on the first try. Same with mak in's and out's.
These little bugs make it very frustrating to edit!
Same for me! On 7.0 and along with the shift+click I've noticed I have to hit play (spacebar or another play key like L) a couple times for Avid to do anything. Having same problem with mark ins and outs and playing reverse.
Hopefully in an update they will fix these little buggies.
Regarding lagging response times in AMC 7 - I think it's the caching not clearing properly. My machine was doing some crappy shutdowns at the end of the day recetnly - hanging up. So last night I ran cocktail for my OS which flushes caches etc. Fixed shut down issue, and this morning I noticed snappier AMC 7 response as well.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who's been having these problems. I bought a new iMac at the same time I upgraded to 7, so at first I wasn't sure which element was causing the problem.
The lag between parking the cursor and being able to successfully hit any key is driving me crazy.
Hopefully they fix this soon, because if there's one thing I know every editor loves, it's having to hit the same key three times everytime you want to do something.
I'm sorry to hear you are having the same problem as me. I can not figure out why it works sometimes and others it will not work. I am so use to selecting and deselecting tracks like that it is habit... Which now screws up the timeline when I do it.
i called avid and they want me to pay to figure this out. If this is a bug, I refuse to pay after paying for the software.....!
thanks for any help anyone can give.
Not the expert here, however seeing as only a small fraction of MC 7 users are complaing about this and the ignorance that Avid has shown to this issue. They are not treating it as a bug which means it will probably not be fixed in 7.0.1, it looks to be unqualified hardware that we are using which Avid does not like and causing it to get stuck to think about its next move. I hope I am wrong about this and Avid does attempt to try to fix this bug if it is a bug.

It takes at least 3 users having the same issue for the moderators to escalate as a bug. Do they fell it is worth sending up the chain?
emennin: Since upgrading to AMC 7 I noticed it's gotten difficult to shift click and swipe across the track selector panel in the timeline to select or deselect multiple tracks. It just feels like it's somehow gotten sticky and I can't make it work sometimes.
I'm using MC7 on a qualified Mac Pro, and I also have some problems selecting/deselecting tracks in the track selector column on the very left of the timeline. A couple of things that puzzle me. People on this thread are talking about shift-clicking; all I ever did was click my cursor to the left of the column of tracks and then swipe/lassoo overthe tracks I want to select or deselect. I've never used the Shift key.
The problem for me, though, is that I don't have enough active grey space to the left of the column of tracks to 'click' my cursor in. I have literally a 64th of an inch. (I think I used to have more room, in previous versions of MC)
I never use the Smart Tool. Is there a way for me to move the Smart Tool toolsets, out of the way? And is there a way for me to increase the width of the active grey space to the left of my track selector panel?

Hi Malcolm,
Shift-clicking would solve your problem since it doesn't require you to click from outside of the track panel, you can click directly on the track buttons. Unfortunately, it doesn't work as well now as it did in previous versions.
quick question do you use 2 monitors and size up the time line thats what I do and I seem to have enough room to lasso the tracks on a mbp with a 24in led monitor as mon 2
