I agree Carl. Despite OP's insistence to the contrary, the question can be read a number of ways.

OP here.  Ok. I'll spell it out.

I would like to see a keyboard shortcut(s) that would move the head/tail of a selected clip to the playhead.

Like the current Extend Edit but without needing to mark, you mean?

Not exactly. The extend shortcut trims. I would like to select a clip, position the playhead and hit a shortcut to move the clip in its entirety (not changing duration or in/outs) to the playhead position.  I used to run a NLE named Velocity that had this shortcut and I found it very useful.

The closest I can think of is you position the playhead, select the clip with the red or yellow arrow segment mode,  then

Ctrl + drag segment in Timeline to snap head to playhead, (Mac Command + Drag)

Alt + Ctrl + Drag to snap tail to playhead.  (Mac Option + Command + Drag)

I knew the CTRL-DRAG method. That`s why I posted in Feature Requests.

It's a good request, just like having the ability to type Enter to move a highlighted segment(s) plus or minus the last numeric-keypad amount used would also be a good request. (same way Trim works and the way cursor movement works)

In the meantime- you could highlight a clip on timeline, press Alt+Z to lift it off the timeline into the Source monitor, re-position your cursor anyway you like to get to your intended spot, then press Alt+ B or Alt+V from the source side to overwrite or splice edit at your new cursor position.

I think that may work for you.... sort of.

+1, I don't suppose this feature has been added since 2013? Would be very handy for music edits
