MC 5 Mac AMA error linking ProRes 29.97: video stretched vertically

I just recently "graduated" to MC 5.5, and I have begun linking Quicktimes instead of having to import them. However, I've run into a bizarre error that I just can't seem to resolve.

When I link a ProRes 422 MOV at 23.98, it comes in just fine. Audio is there, video is there, great. But when I link a ProRes 422 MOV at 29.97, the video is completely screwed up. It's as if it's been stretched vertically, then the bottom half of the video is chopped off, so you only see the stretched top half of the picture.

I have tried everything. I've researched forums, done blanket Google searches, I've even reinstalled both MC 5.5 *and* my Mac OS.

Please, if anyone out there knows what's going on, HELP! I'm pulling out my hair here.

Thanks in advance for your time!

    Don

Are you sure they are both ProRes 422?  Just making sure there isn't a codec you are missing.

Do both movies open fine in QuickTime?

Yep, they're both QT ProRes 422. And they do play just fine in QT Player.

One weird thing that I noticed after my original post: when I look at the Movie Inspector in QT for each file, the 23.98 files just say "ProRes 422 (HQ) 1920x1080". But the 29.97 files say "ProRes 422 (HQ) 1920x1080 (1888x1062)". Is that another clue?
