There have been some issues reported trying to export h264 directly out of Avid.  Short answer...don't do it.

Either export a same-as-source QT or a QT Reference movie and then use an external application (QT Pro or Sorenson) to encode to h264.

    Re: Export error (segmentation fault)

I have had very bad experiences exporting H-264 recently. Especially if using Unity drives for the destination.

There are two things that reduce the crashing for me:

    1. Export to desktop on a local drive.

    2. Once you open the export dialogue you must export within the same operaration. i.e. don't go back to the program before finishing the export.

If I get a crash I find I must do a complete system restart which leads me to believe that there is a major issue with how MC is working with the OS when it comes to H264/quicktime.

I have no problem with QT REF or SAS.

    NOTE:

I saved the console report if Developer/Moderator may need it.

With all my respect & appreciation to all replies...

I really would like to hear from AVID what this error mean?
