Hello,
Quick question - I've been posting here for a few months, and was just wondering how I rate posts (if that's possible?). I've had some help on the forums but how do you give users credit for helping? I see there's the clickable star rating at the top of the thread but that wouldn't give individual users a rating would it?
Thanks
The rating isn't given to an individual user or the original poster, it's given to the thread overall. When members believe the thread has been very helpful to solve a problem, they typically give it a high rating. Conversely, although I've yet to see it happen, a poor (one star) rating could be given to threads that are mostly negative rants in tone. The number of stars displayed is an average of all "votes" tallied.

Oh right, that explains it. Thanks Larry - 5 stars for this one then....
