Re: The new AUDIO MIXER in MC 6 - TOO BIG

Maybe we are just looking for some hope and count on the next event to reveal a solution for some problems that exist for too long, now. :-)

in MC7 the audio tracks disappear in the audio mixer when there is no clip in the timeline, really annoying as you can see here: http://vimeo.com/89233038

Re: The new AUDIO MIXER in MC 6 - TOO BIG

    ITS GETTING WORSE!! :((

    Bloersch:

this creation of an audio mixer is the maximum HORROR of what's possible.

It's HUGE and now it fills the screen with disactracting GUI animations. The faders goes On when a clip starts and Off when it ends. Think of a timeline with soundesign or simply watch the video Bloersch posted which shows pretty much the full disaster.

As it is now, you must hide the mixer before hitting play. Otherwise it's like someone's holding a strobe light into your face.

Did anyone of the GUI designers ever worked with the Media Composer software or do they all have a background in action game design? it feels like they don't understand what the mixer is for.

    Watch the video please: http://vimeo.com/89233038

This is insane. Please tell me there's a way to turn this off, or Avid, acknowledge that this is just a mistake and not an intentional design choice. I haven't installed MC7 yet, but have bought it. Can't believe the mixer somehow got even worse and that Avid has been ignoring the community on this.

Re: The new AUDIO MIXER in MC 6 and 7 - TOO BIG

I've been following the ups and downs of this thread since the inital post, and I agree that the size of the mixer can be tweaked to better fit into a dual monitor configuration.  But my ultimate wish is for Avid to fully support a 3-monitor system.   I'd love to have the audio mixer, audio tool, color correction and scopes always open on a 3rd monitor.   Add real-time scopes and real-time audio and color correction to take MC to the next level.   I know there are workarounds to get a 3-monitor system to work...sort of...but fully supporting a 3-monitor set-up would make the controversy surrounding the mixer size much less of an issue.

MC 8.6.1 with Symphony, Matrox MX02 Mini Max, Win 7 Pro, HP Z800 2x6-Core 3.2Ghz Xeon, 48GB ram, Quadro K4200, SanDisk Extreme 240GB SSD as system drive... [view my complete system specs]

I have a fantastic editing assistant.  He stays by my side when I edit...doesn't talk too much...and thinks I'm a genius!    Check him out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQVkYaaPO6g

I just want to add a +1 from my editors on this topic. The preference would be to have faders automatically resize/scale as the audio mixer window size is changed.

...Or at least to have that as an option.

    Please.

Re: The new AUDIO MIXER in MC 6 - TOO BIG

Is there anyone who likes the bigger mixer?  Please Avid, who are you listening to when designing this??  The MC5 is not fancy, but it's functional and right sized.  Please add it back as an option.
