Recently I bought avid 6.0 for my Mac Book Pro. The installation went smoothly, as did the initial editing (except for the occasional speed hiccup). When I finished the clip and rendered my effects, I tried to export, multiple times. Avid has either frozen, crashed, or given me errors such as Quick Time player was not installed properly. Quick Time came already installed on the Mac, though. Any thoughts on what I should try doing?
Try:Duplicating your timeline. In the duplicate sequence make a new video track Make sure the video monitoring is on the top video track, select the whole timeline and make a video mixdown (under the Special drop down menu) Make sure you choose an Avid resolution for your mixdown.Edit the mixdown into the top vacant video track.Select all audio tracks and make a stereo audio mixdown. Avid should ask what track to put it on.
At this stage I would drag duplicate sequence into the Source monitor.Open a new timeline and patch the video mixdown track from the duplicate sequence to V1 and the audio mixdown track to A1 and edit the two mixdowns into the new timeline.
Try exporting this new timeline.

Avid requires a particular version of QT, if you have the wrong one, then you may experience problems. However, for Mac, the version required is QT X.
Though, which version of the OS do you have? If not 10.7.1 or 10.7.2, then your problems may have arisen from that.
