I found the notes only to version 8.0.2. The current version somewhere? V.
Vilem:The current version somewhere?
Don't know. I'll ask, and post here if I get an answer.
Don't know when the main doc site will be updated, but in the meantime the release notes are available here:
I have just downloaded the file from the Boris Website (http://www.borisfx.com/updates/#null) and have received an email that states:
Here is the serial number for your Continuum Complete AVX Trial Version: CVXXXX-XXXXXX etc."
and then gives me upgrade pricing. Note that it is the "Trial Version" I already own v8 and for obvious reasons don't want to install a trial. There is nothing in the release notes about the install procedure that I could see.
Is "BCCAVX803WinMediaComposer6" the full installer or a trial installer??
Johnny Diesel:Is "BCCAVX803WinMediaComposer6" the full installer or a trial installer??
This is an update and full installer.
I installed over version 8.0.2, and did not deactivate it works with the original license number. Although, when I wanted to check the license first project was shut down MC. In another project control was successful, and in the original project also has to avoid falling. While working OK. V.
Maybe it is documented somewhere, but the install is quite simple when you have an earlier version installed.
Download the update and start install. Boris detects that you have installed a registered and activated version and will install the new update over the old one. You can check what the Registration tells you. It should tell that you own your BCC AVX product.
Boris always sends an email in which the confusion is caused. Though you have a registered and activated version, it assumes that you never had BCC AVX and so telling you that there is a trial period. Ignore that email. Everything is OK.
In BCC AVX plugin, the Registration button has changed. Now it is more clear that you don't need a registration if you have done so already.
But, it could be a nice gesture from Boris to describe the install procedure on the page where the download is located.

I contacted Boris over this a couple of days ago and not having seen this (no reply).
They shouldnt sow seeds of doubt like this - anyone who has ever been in transatlantic licence hell will stay clear of any such potential full licence munching trial upgrade.
MC 8.4.1, MATROX MX02 LE (V18.104.22.1680), WIN 7 SP1 on 240Gb SAMSUNG PRO SSD, Nvidia Quadro FX3800 V340.84, Asus P8 Mobo, 4.5GHz Sandybridge CPU, 32Gb 1800Mhz RAM, PNY RAID 6508e, 4 x 2Tb RAID5 HDD's, 2x3Tb RAID2 , 2 x 500Gb SSD, QT 7.7.6
I got a response saying my existing licence would be OK. Now i get this.
Not happy at all as I cant get this job out now. Be wary of this install as I hang on for a resposne from them.
When do they get up in Boston - in 7 hours? :(
Boston is 5 hours behind Wales. As I type this it's 1:25pm in London, so 8:25am in Boston.
Maybe if you input the serialnumber they send you in the email, the problems arise.
As I said, once BCC is installed, just install the update over the installed version. Don't supply the new serialnumber because the serialnumber of your "old" version is still active.
Thx Sef - they had to send me a completely new serial. My initial cynicism was therefore warranted but ultimately I STILL got bitten and had to let a client down
